The people in's and out's of Banking

Metro Bank is to create 100 new jobs. The new roles will take staff levels at the bank up to 250.

Whereas the Royal Bank of Scotland is to cut a further 3,500 jobs from its UK operations, taking the total number of UK-based redundancies to 20,600. The Unite union has called the move a 'horror story' and stated it is 'appalled' by the bank's actions following its announcement of an interim profit of £1.1bn. Among the new cuts, around 1,500 are related to the sale of branches to Santander.
