Two more stories about companies not looking after your data!

Citigroup has reported that about 3,400 customers lost about $2.7m when their credit card information was breached by hackers earlier this year. While Citigroup had already revealed that more than 360,000 credit card accounts may have been compromised by hackers in May 2011, this is its first public acknowledgement that the incident resulted in any financial losses.

Travelodge has admitted it is investigating a possible hacking attack on its customer database. The incident has been reported to the UK's information commissioner, who can fine businesses for poor data protection
